My 1st ever played and winning Poker game

First time I played Poker was Texas Holdem. We were total 6 players. Me being new to this game was taking baby steps to know and learn about it.It is been played with standard 52-card deck. Position of dealer button is never pre defined and two blinds are posted. The goal is to get the highest ranked five card hand possible, combined from 0 to 2 hole cards and 3 to 5 community cards. Me being next to dealer button was playing as a “small blind” and the “big blind” was theplayer sitting next to me.The "blinds" are forced bets posted by players to the left of the dealer button."Small blind" is normally half the big blind. After putting blinds dealer dealt the cards. Dealer gave each player 2 hole card to hold in hands which are also “Face down” means no other player can see other cards except his own.
Player who was sitting next to big blind started the betting round. So now according to the sequence I had the last chance to put the amount in the pot. As I did not know much how to play I just put the remaining amount that was required to complete the round and eventually to equal the amount of what every individual had put in the pot. Think everyone was confident with the cards they had as 1st round went without anyone “folding” their hands. “Fold” is to throw away a hand and taking no further interest in the
pot, its like quitting. Now again Dealer deals three community cards (the flop), face-up on the table. This confidence could not survive for long time.I “raised” my hand.”Raise” is double the value of the previous player. And so the round went with the same flow till 4th player. As he was not sure about the hand he could make by looking at community cards and his hole cards he decided to fold. And the game continued. Whereas now we total 5 players left.2nd Betting round was over so the dealer dealt another card and places one more face up on the table it is also called as "Turn" or "Fourth Street".. again the betting round starts. This time one more player decided to fold. This round too did go well as i could see my chances of winning were getting higher. Now only 4 players were left. Dealer dealt the last card, 5th card which is also called as "River" or "Fifth Street". As this round ends with the same way in the last betting rounds by putting equal amount in the pot. This was the end of the game where we all who were remaining in the game revealed their hands. Players colud now use any combination of seven cards -- the five community cards and the two hole cards known only to them -- to form the best possible five-card Poker hand. We had 2 of a spade, 4 of a diamond, Jack of a heart, 3 and 4 of a club as community cards. My hole cards were 5 of a heart and 6 of a diamond .so my best possible hand was “straight” from the above cards . “Straight” means Five cards of sequential rank . This made me win 1st place...
