Preventive Measures To Avoid Credit Card Fraud


Fraud scrub is a tool by which we can get something is fraud. The reason behind this is to take a first step for identifying fraud. Following are the preventive measures to minimize credit card fraud:
1] Geo location by IP address:
It provides geographic location by IP address.
2] Comparison of the IP address country with the billing addresses country:
Make sure these IP addresses are same.
E.g. If A is from USA billing and shipping addresses but A logged from Russia then it requires precaution.
3] Check whether the country is a “high risk” country:
High risk country: Ukraine, Indonesia, Egypt, Romania, Malaysia, Turkey, Lithuania, Tigoslavia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Israel.
4] Check whether the mailing address is a mailbox or ship forward service.
5] Check phone number is valid or not:
There are chances of mismatching between zip code and area code.
6] Compare the credit card issuing bank’s country with the billing address country.
7] Check whether an anonymous proxy server was used to place the order.
8] Call the credit card issuing bank to verify the validity of credit card.
